Articled with the late John Pagan, Surveyor, Wakefield Corporation Asst. in the City Sur. and Waterworks Engr. Office, Wakefield; 1888— qualified by Exam. of Inst. M. and Cy.E. and R.S.I. as a Municipal Engr. and Surveyor; appointed Surveyor to the Stroud U.D.C., a position held, with private practice, for over 25 years; carried out schemes of Sewerage and Sewage Disposal for Painswick, Woodchester and Nailsworth, involving 20 miles of sewers, also extensions and alterations of Sewage Disposal Works for Nailsworth, Woodchester, Rodborough and Thrupp, and Schemes for Drainage and Sewage Disposal on Private Estates; as Engr., Stroud Waterworks, he carried out a Pumping Scheme for High Level Supply, etc., a Sewage Disposal Scheme and the erection of a Refuse Destructor for Stroud U.C., a Sewerage and Sewage Disposal Scheme for Wotton-under-Edge.
