GEORGE RANKIN, born in Canada in 1858, died in London on the 4th January, 1914.
He served a pupilage to his father, the late Mr. W. H. Rankin, and was subsequently employed on the Cape Government Railways. He then acted as contractor’s engineer on the Buenos Aires harbour works, and after fulfilling engagements at Bermuda dockyard and Table Bay harbour, he was occupied on surveys for the Buenos Aires and Pacific Railway.
Mr. Rankin was elected an Associate Member of The Institution on the 1st April, 1884, and was transferred to the class of Members on the 24th January, 1906.
