...of Gourlay Brothers and Co...relinquished his personal interest in the business and in conjunction with a Mr. Littlejohn, entered in to and built up an important legal practice....in 1864 when his brother Alexander retired from shipbuilding...the whole working arrangement of the shipyard devolved upon Mr. Gourlay...his sons Henry Garrett and Charles Gresham...
