Godfrey Charles Isaacs
Godfrey Charles Isaacs (1866-1925), industrialist.
1866 Born in Hampstead, son of Joseph Isaacs, merchant, and his wife Sara Isaacs[1], brother of Rufus Isaacs
Educated in England, France and Germany.
Worked in his father's fruit merchanting and ship broking business from a young age
At 18 he was manager of the company.
1901 Godfrey Charles Isaacs 34, mining engineer, employer lived in Clapham with Lea Constance Isaacs 28, Mariel Godfrey Isaacs 7, Dennys Isaacs 5[2]
1909 He met Guglielmo Marconi who invited Isaacs to take charge of the company's business affairs
1910 he was appointed Managing Director of Marconi's Wireless Telegraph Co., Ltd., and the Marconi International Marine Communication Co., Ltd.
1923 Appointed director of the British Broadcasting Co
1924 Mr Isaacs was obliged under doctor's orders to resign his position as managing director and deputy chairman of the boards of directors of Marconi's Wireless Telegraph Co and of the Marconi International Marine Communication Co by that both companies will continue to have the benefit of his assistance in a consultative capacity. 1925 Died at Virginia Water
