The Great Northern and London and North Western Joint Railway was a 45 mile line

1879 Opening of the GN&LNWR joint line from Melton Mowbray to Market Harborough; the northern section having opened first on 30 June.

1923 The line was jointly owned by the London, Midland and Scottish Railway and the London and North Eastern Railway
