Coal sales and export organisation

1874 T. J. Callaghan (1858- ) began his commercial career with Gueret which company later became Gueret, Llewellyn, Merrett Ltd., Coal Exporters & Shipbrokers. For many years he was Chairman of the Company.

1930 Amalgamated with several collieries into Welsh Associated Collieries

By 1934 the company had become associated with GKN; as a result T. J. Callaghan became a director of GKN.

1936 Welsh Associated Collieries were absorbed into the Powell Duffryn Associated Collieries.

By 1946 the company was a subsidiary of Powell Duffryn[1]
