Part of the GHH Group, which was founded in 1758. The Gute Hoffnung ironworks in Oberhausen-Sterkrade went into operation in 1782.[1]

Successors to Hüttengewerkschaft und Handlung Jacobi, Haniel & Huyssen (JHH) [2]

An 1835 beam engine made by the company for Krupp at Essen is on display at the Deutsches Museum.
