Made a range of small, simple integrated steam engine/boiler units for use in small workshops. A 2 HP example made c.1914 is on display in Vienna Technical Museum. See photos. The accompanying display board includes an advert for a prospectus for the Schnelldampfmotor 'Rapid', headed with the name Wm. E. Thursfield M. Inst. C.E.

Hermann Hoffmeister and Edmund Friedrich patented a small 'atmospheric' steam engine, intended to be safe from explosion. Patented in the USA in 1881 [1]
