1936 Public company, H. and R. Johnson Ltd, was incorporated to acquire a private company of similar name[1]

1968 Acquired Richards-Campbell Tiles[2]

1968 H. and R. Johnson-Richards Tiles controlled 70 percent of the British market in pottery tiles[3]

1969 Acquired Malkin Tiles (Burslem) Ltd, in which the company had held a minority stake[4]

1979 Norcros acquired Johnson-Richards[5]

By 1986 the name had been shortened to H. and R. Johnson Tiles Ltd[6]

1997 Queen's Award for Environmental Achievement[7]
