1838 Advertisement. 'TO FLAX, TOW, AND WORSTED SPINNERS, ENGINEERS, &c. Charles Walton, Cornelius Walton, Jonathan Morton, and John Handforth having been many Years engaged in the Trade, and having taken the Premises and purchased the Stock of Hay, Walton and Co., Union Foundry, Hunslet-Lane, Leeds, beg leave to assure their Friends and the Public of their being able to Manufacture Machines of the very best Kind, and on the most recent Principles. All Sorts of Flax, Tow, and Worsted Machinery, Slide and other Lathes; Planing, Screwing, Slotting and Drilling Machines; Cutting and Dividing Engines, &c., &c., on the very best Style; Planing and Fluting Work; Screws and Wheels Cut to order. All kinds of Drums, Pulleys, and Cones Cast on the shortest Notice, and reasonable Terms.'[1]
