The Hay Railway ran from the Brecknock and Abergavenny Canal at Brecon to Eardisley. It was sanctioned by 51 Geo. III., c 122, of May 25th, 1811, but its route was altered the following year by 522 Geo., c 106.

Part of this line was used in the construction of the Brecon and Merthyr Railway and part for the Hereford, Hay and Brecon Railway[1]
