HENRY JONES died at Bournemouth on December 28, 1901, aged seventy years. He was one of the best known of Rotherham business men, but he never aspired to any public position. He had had practical experience of the iron trade as a responsible servant of the Midland Iron Company, Limited, of Masborough.
On leaving that establishment twenty-six years ago, he started iron manufacturing on his own account, in company with the late Mr. Cook and Mr. Wilcock, under the title of Wilcock, Jones & Cook.
For several years he had had periodical attacks of illness, and it was in the hope of improving his health that he gave up his Rotherham residence and removed to Bournemouth.
He was elected a member of the Iron and Steel Institute in 1890.
