HENRY TANNER FERGUSON, born at Sunderland on the 1st July, 1843, died at Bovey Tracey on the 22nd June, 1909.
After serving 10 years in the locomotive departments of railways in Devon and Cornwall, he went out in 1874 to India, where he was district Locomotive Superintendent on the Great India Peninsular Railway, and Locomotive Superintendent successively on the Burma Railways, Punjab Northern Railway, and the Eastern Bengal State Railway, retiring in 1888.
Mr. Ferguson was elected an Associate of The Institution on the 2nd May, 1871, was subsequently placed in the class of Associate Members, and was transferred to the class of Members on the 14th October, 1884.
