1922 B.Eng., M.Inst.C.E., M.Inst.C.E.I., Engr. to The Limerick Harbour Commissioners; b. 1854; s. of William Morony, Fortlawn, Ballyglass, Co. Mayo. Ed. Chiefly at Royal Academical Inst., Belfast. Training: Queen's College (now Queen's University), Belfast. Pupil to Dr. Bindon B. Stoney, M.Inst.C.E.; Engr. to the Port and Docks Bd., Dublin; Eng. Asst. with the Bd. of Public Works, Ireland, 1878-89; on the Fishing Piers and Harbours of Ireland; Asst. Engr., The Loop Line, Dublin, 1889-90; Engr. to The Limerick Harbour Commissioners, since 1890; responsible for the maintenance and improvement of the navigation of the Shannon, below Limerick, and all work connected with the maintenance of the Port.
