1823 October 18th. Born in Battersea the son of Herman Sillem, a Merchant, and his wife Wilhelmina Catherine Henriette Louise Weitz
1856 June 19th. Married to Emma Maria Frederica Meyer. 'On the 19th inst, at the German Lutheran Church, London, Herman James Sillem, Esq, of Liverpool, second son of the late Herman Sillem, Esq, of Clapham-common, to Emma, eldest daughter of Charles Meyer, Esq., Clapham-park, London.'[1]
1861 Living at Fullwood Park, Toxteth, Liverpool: Herman James Sillem (age 37 born Battersea), Engineer and Ironfounder employ 600 hands. With his wife Emma Sillem (age 22 born Lambeth) and their three children; Emelia Sillem (age 4 born Liverpool); Marie Sillem (age 2 born Liverpool); James Sillem (age 1 born Liverpool). Four servants.[2]
1897 May 4th. Died at his residence 194 Cromwell Road, London. Formerly of Liverpool age 73.[3]
