1955 Nucleonics instruments[1]
1956 Existing shareholders included: Vickers, Guest, Keen and Nettlefold, Prudential Assurance, Morgan Grenfell and Co, Distillers; they were joined by AEI in a scheme raising new capital for the business. Products included instruments for laboratory work on atomic energy, industrial instruments for control work where radioactive isotopes were involved; work would be done on control instruments for nuclear reactors [2]
1957 AEI had a 50 percent interest in the company[3]
1960 Elliott Automation acquired Isotope Developments (Beenham), a subsidiary of Isotope Developments concerned with nucleonic instruments, in order to avoid duplication by both companies in the nucleonic instruments field. Isotope Developments Ltd changed its name to Nucleonic Investments Ltd, and continued to own R. A. Stephen and Co, a maker of radiation measuring instruments [4]
1963 Elliott Automation acquired Baldwin Instrument Co, maker of nucleonic instruments for process control and fluid power equipment; Baldwin would complement existing Elliott businesses - Elliott Nucleonics and Isotope Developments[5]
1967 Baldwins and Isotope Developments were combined in one location at Beenham, Berks[6]
By 1967 Baldwin Instrument Co was part of Isotope Developments, of Aldermaston, another part of the Elliott Automation group.
1967 Isotope Developments became part of Nuclear Enterprises (G.B.) of Edinburgh[7]
