1891 [[J. E. H. Gordon and Co]] built the central station which would supply electricity to the [[1892 Crystal Palace Electrical Exhibition|Electrical Exhibition]] at Crystal Palace, which was opened on January 1st, 1892, otherwise known as [[Sydenham Power Station|Sydenham Electric Light Station]].
