Mr James Affleck, B.Sc. (Member), who died in September aged 83, was well-known for his services to the foundry industry. A member of the Institute of British Foundrymen, he was President of its Scottish Branch for three years and was always eager to help his many friends and colleagues from his wide knowledge of the sciences and humanities.
For the last twenty years of his working life he managed Foundry Plant and Machinery Ltd, in the later part of that time he was a Director of the Company. His death robs the industry of a staunch friend.
