1841 James Aspden 25, cloth salesman, lived in Leeds with Louisa Aspden 20[1]

1841 His father took him into partnership as Joseph Aspdin and Son, cement makers at the Kirkgate in Leeds.

1848 James moved the business to a third site at Ings Road, Northfleet.

1871 James Aspden 57, cement manufacturer, lived in Wakefield with Louisa Aspden 50[2]

1873 Died in Wakefield[3]
