JAMES CAREY, born at Dundee on the 29th May, 1883, died on the 1st November, 1915, of wounds received in action in Flanders.
He was a lance-corporal piper in the London Scottish regiment.
In 1903, after fulfilling several minor engagements on varied engineering work in Dundee and Glasgow, he came to London and entered the service of the London County Council, where he was employed under Mr. W. E. Riley, M. Inst. C.E., on the design and erection of generating-station buildings and other constructional work until the outbreak of war.
He was elected an Associate Member on the 6th December, 1910.
