Founded by James Doyle
1806 Business began as possibly the first iron foundry in the city to use the cupola furnace for iron casting production - which was at time a recent invention.
1810 Trading under the style of James Doyle and Co. Producing fire grates and kitchen ranges in addition to cooking utensils such as frying pans, salt pans stoves and kettles.[1]
1818 Barrington's Bridge was manufactured by Doyle, and became the first iron road bridge to be cast by an Irish foundry. Constructed for Sir Matthew Barrington who owned estates nearby, it spans over the Killeenagarriff River at over 53 ft long.
1830 Foundry was known as City Foundry.
