1861 An iron merchant living in Leith with his wife Agnes Marshall 55, and nieces Eliza Cowan 21, Maggie Cowan 21, Agnes M Cowan 19, Jessie Cowan 18, and nephew John Cowan 16, who had just joined the Redpath and Brown company[1]
