James Underhill (c1829-1893) of the Great Western Railway Hotel, Exeter

1861 Listed at Elmfield House, Exeter, as a Butler.[1]

1871 Living at the Railway Hotel, St. David's, Exeter. James Underhill (age 42 born Crediton), Hotel Keeper. With his wife Eleanor and two sons.[2]

1891 Living at the Railway Hotel, St. David's, Exeter. James Underhill (age 62 born Crediton), Hotel Keeper - Employer. With his wife Eleanor and four children.[3]

1893 July. Died age 64 after an illness. Proprietor of the Railway Hotel. Many years a member of Exeter City Council.[4]
