1864 Sale Notice: 'UNDER AN ASSIGNMENT FOR BENEFIT CREDITORS.
TO SHUTTLE MAKERS, TIMBER DEALERS,& OTHERS.
MR. EDWARD HILL has been favoured with instructions from the Trustees of John Cocker, Oldham, Shuttle Maker, to SELL by AUCTION, at his works and premises, Back Dawson-street, out of Market-street, Heywood, on Thursday, the 4th day of August, 1861, at Two o'clock in the Aftornoon, the whole of the Working Plant and STOCK-IN TRADE, comprising horizontal Steam Engine of 8-horse power, 2 feet stroke, 10 inch cylinder ; six Lathes, Planing Machine for shuttle tongs, Saw Bench with circular saws, pair of Vice, Working Benches, Shuttle Making Tools of various sorts, 4 cwt. of Steel, Weighing Machine, 100 gross of Shuttle Blocks, pirn squares, steam piping, &c &c. Also 200 feet round Sycamore, Ash, and Crab Timber, 1,200 feet of Apple tree and Holly Planks.
N.B.—The above Stock will offered in one Lot, and if no suitable bidding, will be sold in detail.
