John Herbert Dutfield (1877-1960) of Axminster Carpets

1877 Born in Broadwater, Worcestershire

1901 Carpet Designer, lodging in Glasgow[1]

1911 Living at 1 Brindley St, Stourport: John Herbert Dutfield (age 33 born Broadwater), Carpet Designer. With his wife Janie Scott Dutfield (age 30 born Broughton Ferry) and their son William Henry Dutfield.[2]

1939 Carpet designer, living in Seaton, with Janie S Dutfield 59[3]

1960 Died. 'Mr. John H. Dutfield. formerly of Foley Park. Kidderminster, has died at Axminster at the age of 83. He had a long career as an artist in the carpet industry, first at Stourport, then at Kidderminster and for the past 22 years at Axminster. There he was head designer and colourist of Axminster Carpets. Ltd., the firm which was established by his only son Mr. Harry Dutfield.'[4]
