1810 September 06th. Married. 'On Thursday at Minchinhampton, Mr. John Lewis, of Brimscombe Port, to Esther, fourth daughter of Mr. John Baker, of the same place.'[1]
1815 Patented a rotary shearing-machine.[2]
1818 Patent. 'JOHN LEWIS, clothier, WILLIAM LEWIS, dyer, and WILLIAM DAVIS, engineer, all of Brimscomb, Gloucestershire; for certain improvements on wire-gig mills, for the purpose of dressing woollen and other cloths, that may require such process. Dec. 19.'[3]
