John Ley (c1806- )

1841 Living in North Street, Exeter: John Ley (age c35), Ironmonger. With Mary Ley (age c35), John Ley (age c15), and William Ley (age c6). Also John Lake (age c65). Note the three houses together contain three ironmongers - Ambrose Parker, John Ley and John Garton.[1]

1851 Living at 3 Garden Square, Exeter: John Ley (age 45 born St. Sidwell, Exeter), Asst. Ironmonger. With his wife Mary Ann Ley (age 49 born Crediton) and their four children; John Robert Ley (age 22 born St. Sidwell, Exeter), Asst. ironmonger; Sarah Ann Ley (age 19 born St. Sidwell, Exeter), Milliner; William Henry Ley (age 15 born St. David's, Exeter), Solicitors Clerk; Herbert Felix Ley (age 7 born St. David's, Exeter).[2]
