John Ramsden (1833-1911)


1912 Obituary [1]

JOHN RAMSDEN, born on the 15th December, 1833, at Liverpool, died at Holmes Chapel, Cheshire, on the 9th August, 1911.

Trained under Messrs. M'Clean and Stileman, he joined the staff of the Great Indian Peninsula Railway Co. in 1859, and served 21 years on the construction and maintenance of various sections of main line and branches.

He afterwards served in Spain, retiring in 1889 owing to ill-health.

Mr. Ramsden was elected a Member of the Institution on the 5th April, 1881.
