JOHN STANLEY, sole Inventor, and the only real Patentee of the SELF-ACTING FEEDING MACHINE, for fueling, or supplying of Furnaces in general with fuel, begs leave to inform the Public, that the above Machine has been approved of the best Mechanics and Engineers, for its utility in feeding Steam Engines, and other Boilers, with fuel, whereby a considerable reduction in the consumption of fuel, and the appearance of smoke, as well as a saving of labour, is effected. For a view of the Machine, and the manner of its operation, apply to John Stanley, Back Watling-street, Shudehill, Manchester.

John Stanley having been credibly informed that a certain person in Manchester has for some time past been practising an imposition on the Public, by vending a Machine similar to the one above-mentioned, and for which he pretends to have a Patent, takes leave on the present occasion to assure the Public, that diligent search has been made at the Patent Office, and that no Patent has ever been granted to any person for the Machine in question but to himself; and he hereby gives Notice, that any person who shall, after the date hereof, offer to Sale, or make use of his Machine, or of his propelling Fans, acting either perpendicular or horizontal, or shall otherwise infringe upon his said Patent, will be proceeded against either by injunction, or in such manner may be deemed advisable. AN Excellent Nine-inch Double-geared LATHE, ten-inch ditto, eight-inch and 7-inch single speed ditto, all with face plates, chucks, rests, and driving apparatus: cast-iron lathe with planed surface, 17 feet long; portable upright drilling machine, hand and rack drills, two patent vices by White, five bench vices, two grindstones with cast iron troughs, cold chisels, maundrills. screw keys, hammers. braces.
