1788 Advert: 'To be Sold by Auction, or private Contract, On Tueday the 7th Day of October 1788, at John Swindall’s Workshop, near the Top of Tib-street, in Manchester,
TEN Cotton Jennies, 84 Spindles, several others of different Size, a Carding Engine Stove, Cotton Press, Warping Mill, and other Cotton Machinery. The Sale begin at ten o’clock. The above was late the Property John Swindalls, and must be Sold by his Trustees for the Benefit of his Creditors. Enquire of the said John Swindalls, or Mr. Francis Ambrey, Tib-street, Manchester.'
