1861 Living with his parents in Leeds[1]

1866 John senior set up as consultant in London

c.1876 John junior spent 12 months at the Crystal Palace School of Engineering before joining his father's business. He joined the Inst of Civil Engineers as a Student member. His address was South Tower, Crystal Palace[2]

John senior took his sons into his business, John Waddington (of London)

1878 Joined the Inst of Mechanical Engineers as a Graduate member.
