1856 Advert: 'JOHN WARNER (LATE RICHARDS), ENGINEER, MILLWRIGHT, AND MACHINIST, VICTORIA-STREET, LICHFIELD STREET, HANLEY, STAFFORDSHIRE. Manufacturer of Brick and Quarry Presses, Clay Rollers, Potters’ and other Lathes, &c. Wanted a SECOND-HAND HIGH PRESSURE BOILER, 6 feet by about 2 feet 6 inches.—Apply as above. '[1]

1876 Advert: 'JOHN WARNER AND SON, ENGINEERS AND IRON FOUNDERS, HANLEY, STAFFORDSHIRE, Makers of High and Low Pressure Engines, Hoists, Pumps, Shafting, Pulleys, Clay and Mortar Mills, Brick Machinery, Brick and Quarry Presses. &c. also Wheels, Columns, Girders. Pipes, Pit Wheels, Plates, and all Castings supplied at a short notice. Cylinders bored in their places. J. W. and S., having a large assortment of PATTERNS, are prepared to supply CASTINGS at very moderate prices.'[4]
