1870 Patent. '2791. To John Wilkins, of Oak-street, Wolverhampton, county of Stafford, for the invention of "improvements in fixing india rubber tires and tires of any compressible materials to wheels of bicycles, velocipedes, bath-chairs, and other light wheels for loco-motion."'[1]
