1878 Obituary[2]
Our obituary contains the name of Mr. Joseph Tuxford, the senior member of the well known firm of Tuxford and Sons, ironfounders, of Boston and Skirbeck, who dropped dead from his chair on Monday evening. He had been invalided for several months, and therefore his death was not unexpected. Nor was its suddenness a surprise to his friends, as the malady, which had long confined him his room, was aggravated form of heart disease. His last appearance in public - and he was seriously ill at the time — was at vestry meeting in Skirbeck nearly 18 months ago, when the vexed question of lighting some of the public thoroughfares of the parish with gas was fiercely debated.
