1902 Company established as the Kitson Light Foreign Supply Co., London.

Amalgamated with Empire Light also originally owned by Arthur Kitson.

1911 Incorporated as a Limited Company. Successor of Kitson Empire Co.

1911 Chairman: Walter Coates. Managing Director: Arthur Kitson.

1911 Issued catalogue on a light that burns lamp oil without a wick. [1]. Kitson Empire Patent System of Lighting.

1911 Issued the tradmark Kelite that from December 1911 onwards was stamped on all lamps and spare parts made by it. [2] Claimed that the "Kelite" patent inverted-Domestic Portable Lamp was the safest, best and most economical light known, 100 candle power. Made in brass or lacquered; also all kinds of hanging lamps, &c., for domestic use and all forms of indoor lighting to burn Petroleum or Paraffin Oil.


1911 Incorporated as a limited company.

1914 Manufacturers of lamps etc. Specialities: lamps and parts pertaining to the Kitson Empire patent system of lighting; "Kelite" inverted domestic portable lamp, made in brass or lacquered; all kinds of hanging lamps for domestic use and all forms of indoor lighting to burn petroleum or paraffin oil.
