Gamet roller bearings helped to improve the accuracy of machine tools made by Colchester Lathe Co; the bearings were made at the 2 factories of La Precision Industrielle SA in Paris.

1955 To overcome a bottleneck in supplies, the company was formed by George Cohen, Sons and Co to make Gamet Precision Roller Bearings in the UK for use in their lathes; under exclusive licence; Mr L. Gamet was a minority shareholder in the company[1]

1958 George Cohen 600 Group acquired the minority share in the company[2]
