1880 Le Grand and Sutcliff listed as providing tube wells.
1920 Private company.
1925 Mr G. A. Hughes was appointed a director of Le Grand, Sutcliffe and Gell, artesian well-engineers, Southall.[1]
1948 Company made public.
Well drillers and oil field equipment makers.
1956 Platt Brothers and Co (Holdings) acquired 51 percent of the shares in the company[2]. The rest of the shares were acquired the following year.
By 1959 Le Grand Adsco Ltd, Le Grand Rochester Ltd and Le Grand Western Foundries were subsidiaries of Stone-Platt Industries; the work at the Rochester site was being moved to the Platt site at Charlton.
1961 Civil engineers, well drillers, undertaking manufacture of specialised equipment for oil industry, such as pumping units, casing heads and other well head equipment. [3]
