Supplied electricity to the Borough of Luton and the surrounding area from 1901 to 1969.

The power station was operated by the Luton Corporation until the nationalisation of the British electricity industry in 1948.

Post-WWI the station was redeveloped to meet the increased demand for electricity.

1969 The station closed
