Steel and File Manufacturers of Wadsley Bridge Works, Sheffield.

1854 John Machen and Sons was dissolved and the business was carried on by George Hides Machen, and John Finch Machen[1]

1858 Henry Miller left the partnership, who were steel and file manufacturers and merchants[2]

1859 Advert. Machens XX Steel. Corporate Mark Granted 1760.

1863 A similar notice to that of 1858 was given about Henry Miller leaving the partnership[3]

1864 Dissolution of the Partnership between George Hides Machen, and John Finch Machen, as Merchants and Manufacturers, carried on at the Wadsley Bridge Steel Works, near Sheffield, under the style of Machen, Miller, and Machen, by mutual consent.[4].
