Maclean was chief official assistant to Lord Kelvin for fifteen years.
 
He is M.A. and D.Sc. of Glasgow University, and holds the post of Professor of Electrical Engineering in the Glasgow and West of Scotland Technical College.
 
He has made many contributions to periodical literature besides publishing some important works on Modern Electrical Practice.

Professor Magnus Maclean (c1858-1937)
