1898 Thomas Andrew Common became a partner

1912 Thomas Common became sole partner

1927 Private company.

1936 Thomas Common retired

1938 Company made public.

1950 Started work at BP's Grangemouth Refinery

1961 Chemical and industrial engineers specialising in nuclear energy; chemical, oil refinery and industrial engineering; air conditioning, heating, electrical and sanitation.

1963 The group split into Matthew Hall Mechanical Services, Matthew Hall Engineering, Matthew Hall Works and Plant[1]

1988 AMEC plc acquired the Matthew Hall Group of companies
