Sir Max Muspratt (1872–1934)
1872 Born at Seaforth Hall son of Edmund Knowles Muspratt.
Studied industrial chemistry at Zürich Polytechnic
1890 Became a director of United Alkali Co, the combine formed by his father
1896 He married Helena Agnes Dalrymple Ainsworth of Blackburn. They had two sons and two daughters.
1910 Member of Parliament for the Exchange Division of Liverpool
1914 Became chairman of the United Alkali Co, a company which his father founded
WWI Served in the Trench Warfare Department. Advised the Ministry of Munitions on industrial chemical matters, particularly the supply of critically important sulphuric acid.
1916-7 Lord Mayor of Liverpool
1922 Raised to baronetcy.
1926 When United Alkali were absorbed into the new Imperial Chemical Industries, Max was appointed a director.
1934 Died in Liverpool[1]
