1866 John McKenzie, Thomas Clunes, and Walter Holland, all of the Vulcan Iron Works, in the city of Worcester, Engineers, have given the like notice in respect of the invention of "improvements in machinery or apparatus for actuating and regulating railway points and signals."[1]

1873 Petition by Thomas Clunes, Walter Holland, and Samuel Telford Dutton, all of the Vulcan Iron Works, in the city of Worcester, Engineers, in respect of the invention of "improvements in machinery or apparatus for working and inter-locking points and signals on railways."[2]
