1862 Exhibition: Patent filter press for semi-fluids. The press was used by manufacturers of china and earthenware, for expressing the water from the slip instead of boiling, and by brewers for rapidly clarifying drawings, and expressing beer from yeast and grounds; and also by oil refiners and colour makers.
