1801 (or 1804[1]) Born Ryton, Co Durham[2], son of William Douglass and Ann Oliver

Superintending engineer to Trinity House

1825 Married Alice Douglass (sic) (c.1801-1874) in St Marylebone Parish Church[3]; they had two sons James Nicholas Douglass and William Douglass

1851 Living in the Scilly Isles[4]

1881 Died in Cornwall; his sons, both civil engineers, were his executors[5]
