1986 Northumbria Motor Services was formed as a National Bus Co subsidiary to acquire all of United Automobile Services operations north of the Tyne.

It had a fleet of 319 buses, minibuses and coaches serving an area from the Tyne to the Scottish borders. It also ran long distance coaches.

1987 Sold to a management buy-out team.
