1937 Recovered the use of his upper body. Travelled to Britain to resume his education

Attended Cambridge University

1938 His family left Berlin and acquired B. K. L. Alloys, an aluminium forging company, founded in 1936 by 3 refugees from Germany

He joined the family business

By 1966 he was managing director of B. K. L. Alloys

1972 Appointed chairman of GKN Screws and Fasteners and of GKN Bolts and Nuts[1]

1972 Appointed to the board of GKN (UK)[2]

1972 Left the board of GKN Farr Filtration[3]

1974 Appointed to the board of GKN[4]
