Private Residence: 60, Lyndhurst Drive, Leytonstone, E.Ii. b. 1883; second s. of the late John Record of Clapton, N.E. Ed. St. Ignatius' College, Stamford Hill, London, N., and City and Guilds of London Institute (Finsbury College). After being connected with Edison and Swan, Johnson and Phillips, and the India Rubber, Gutta Percha and Telegraph Works Co., Silvertown, spent 4 years in the Peel Works of the General Electric Co., Ltd., being then transferred to their Head Office as Assistant Manager of the Switchgear Department. Left them to take up the position of Manager of the Supplies Department of the Lahmeyer Electric Co. For a number of years prior to the War was Manager of the Electrical Engineering and Equipment Co., Ltd., and for 2 years after the War Chief Engineer and Manager of the same company. Paper read before the Institution of Electrical Engineers, on "The Testing of Underground Cables with Continuous Current," 1916. War Services.—Fifteen months as a sapper in the London Electrical Engineers, Royal Engineers (T. ), attached to an anti-aircraft searchlight station, and then till the close of the war with the Cambridge Scientific Instrument Co., Ltd., in charge of some special instrument work for the Admiralty.
