Sale of an 8 horse power horizontal steam engine, self acting screw cutting and surfacing lathe, 3ft. gap, 9in. centres, 16ft. bed ; punching and shearing machine, to punch 3/4 holes in 5/8 plate 9 inches from edge ; set of boiler plate, bending rollers, 4ft. 6in., and rollers 7in. diameter ; bolt and nut screwing machine, with double ended shaft ; new turning lathe, with 12ft. planed bed ; drilling machine, with overhead motion ; shaping machine, by Kendal and Gent, nearly new brass and iron bolts and nuts, new and old steel, Morgan's crucibles, castings in great variety, boiler tubes, steam piping, gas stocks, taps and dies, large assortment of wood patterns, lifting jack, couplings, gas pipe, circular saw bench, 5ft 6in. by 3ft., and 2 saws ; grinding stone and frame, steel turning bits, Lloyd’s patent fan and fittings, safety vslves, chills for railway wheels, steel faced tools, anvils, bellows and fittings, forge and trough, a number of moulding boxes and tools, wrought, cast and sheet iron, cog wheels, large fly wheel, 11 India rubber and leather belts, portable forge and vice, Whitworth’s taps, dies, wrenches and dymers, pipe cutters, vices pulley blocks, carpenters’ bench and tools, fitters’ tools, office furniture, the contents of the yards, stores, lofts, etc.
MESSRS MAYNARD have been instructed to sell by auction, on Monday, the 23rd of September, 1872, commencing at 11-30, the whole of the Machinery, Steam Engine, and Plant Of the Phoenix iron works, recently carried on by Mr Alfred Ingram.
