Smith, Fullarton and Co (founded 1850) owned Portdownie Iron Works until 1870 when they moved.

Camelon Iron Co's foundry at Lock 16 was sold to Walker, Turnbull and Co and became Portdownie Iron Works.

1872 Walker, Hunter and Co were founded. Located at Portdownie Iron Works, Camelon, Falkirk.
